Can you share any of your plans for work in this area yet? So if we want people to have healthy lives we need to look not only at improving health care but also more widely at how we can address all these determinants of health. In reality, how healthy people are is determined by wider factors such as where they live and work, what they eat, how much they exercise, and the social support networks they have. We’ve contributed to that over the last 10-15 years by doing work to improve the health care that people receive across the UK, in particular making sure that it is safe and that it meets their needs.īut we recognise that health care is just one small aspect of what helps keep people healthy. Can you tell us about the Health Foundation’s new strategic aim to improve the health of the UK population?Īt the Health Foundation we want people to have good health. We’re trying to improve personalised digital health with practical pilots.The Health Foundation is expanding its scope, looking beyond just health care to how the organisation’s activities can support population health across the UK. ![]() We develop interpretations and predictive models of the personal health data for reliable advice and personalised interventions. We develop useful, safe, and reliable applications that meet everyone's need for personalised healthcare. This allows you to collect a lot of data and gain insight into genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Healthcare is digitalising at a rapid pace. How do we improve the quality of digital healthcare? ![]() We’re convinced that a change in lifestyle is the cure of the future for many diseases. This personal information supports structural behavioural changes and a healthier lifestyle. We convert them into valuable information, which we use to provide proactive, tailor-made advice. We also help the general public and professionals make healthy choices by collecting data on health and risks at a personal level. We do this by innovating in the preclinical and clinical phases of drug development. We want to significantly reduce the failure rate and thus the development costs of much-needed new drugs. This creates a basis for interventions and assistive technology to improve both prevention and participation. This leads us to collective public health strategies, personalised intervention strategies, and evidence-based health interventions, especially for the work environment. In addition, we measure and monitor stress and exposure to harmful substances in everyday life. We’re developing an online platform that provides guidelines for youth healthcare and gives parents access to the professionals and advice they need to make the right choices. Health interventions are methods and technologies that can be used when someone's health is at risk.įor example, we’re contributing to the transformation of youth healthcare through digitalisation. Within the domains, we develop knowledge and expertise in health, health technology, and customised health interventions. We’re good at identifying major future developments and interventions relevant to these domains.
